Halloween Horror Nights 2025

Poltergeist

Role: Marty

In 2025, I returned to Halloween Horror Nights for another year and was cast in the returning Poltergeist maze as the paranormal investigator Marty. I was cast to portray an iconic scene in the 1982 Poltergeist film where the character Marty hallucinates himself peeling off his face. I also had the chance to fill in multiple times for the scene before Marty peels off his face, the scene where he hallucinates a piece of meat crawling on a counter in the kitchen. The "face peel" Marty had three scenes, the Utility room where I perform the iconic scene with an added jumpscare and two dark room scares where I jumpscare the guests in pitch black. Also of note, the "face peel" Marty role required me to be covered in fake blood daily (neck and hands). The "kitchen" Marty had only one scene, but of course it was the most complex and involved. I had to portray Marty suddenly noticing a crawling piece of meat on a counter after looking for something to snack on. Once he notices the piece of meat, he would then approach it but notice that the chicken drumstick he was holding was covered in maggots. He would then notice that maggots were not only on the snack he was eating, but all over his shirt too. At that point, I would trigger a jump scare at the guests screaming in fear as I would retreat to restart the scene. This was the first time I was able to try out a role at Halloween Horror Nights where my face was completely exposed.

Terror Tram: Enter The Blumhouse

Role: The Grabber

I also had the opportunity to perform at Terror Tram: Enter The Blumhouse as The Grabber. It was only for a day, so I only have photos of me backstage and currently cannot find any photos/videos of me performing. (It is indeed out there though!). The role only had one scene where I would run out at incoming guests from behind the "Abracadabra" van wielding an axe. This was very different from what I was used to as this time I had no control over when to scare. This scene was a trio scare where another grabber in front of the van had control over when to send us out to the guests. That means I had listen for audio cues to know when to pop out from my hide. Another difference from what I was normally used to was the fact that I was outside in a big open area this time. This both gave me the freedom to move around wherever I liked (within my designated boundries) but also required me to have to think more about how I scare a guest as they're not stuck in a small corridor anymore. Speaking of which, there's a very interesting technique when it comes to scaring guests with a blunt weapon, and that is to just perform the build up and never attempt to follow through. Also, this role required a HEAVY amount of prostethics and makeup on my face/forehead.

Halloween Horror Nights 2024

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

Role: Garraka

2024 was my first year performing for Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights. I was cast to portray the main antagonist of the film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Garraka. I had two scenes, one near the beginning labeled as the "Newspaper Scene" where I would pull on a scrim to jumpscare guests and one closer to the end labeled as the "Lab Scene" where I would pop out of a broken window to scare guests. This role required me to wear lots and lots costume parts for extensive periods of time. My performance was also recorded for the official Ghostbusters Instagram page as part of a promotion for the maze.
